Gary Roberts
Institutional Director/Chief Instructor

 

Gary Roberts has had a career in linework since 1967. He completed his 4-year apprenticeship with the Northeast Joint Apprenticeship Training Program in 1971, and has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, out of Local 42, for the past thirty-eight years.  Gary and his brothers entered the International Lineman Rodeo in Kansas City, Missouri and won the title of Construction Champions in 1989. 
Gary has worked all over the United States, from Alaska to Florida, California to New England, and also, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Having had the opportunity to work in so many places across the country, he has had the unique opportunity to encounter a variety of job experiences and knowledge along the way, which makes him an extremely valuable instructor here at NALTC. 


He has been involved in various phases of linework, including distribution, transmission highlines, underground and substations, and has also had cantenary experience- Overhead Contact Systems- working on the electric train systems in Connecticut and California. He has filled various positions of linework, advancing throughout the years, from apprentice lineman, journeyman lineman, foreman, general foreman and superintendent.

 

Gary had a vision of sharing his wealth of knowledge, vast array of work experience, and deep appreciation for the electrical lineworker industry, by founding the North American Lineman Training Center, in order to help others pursue their careers in the electrical lineworker industry. As Institutional Director and Chief Instructor of NALTC, Gary will be responsible for all instruction and training of the Pre-Apprentice Lineworker Program in all areas of the classroom and in the field. He will also be responsible for the training of future instructors as the NALTC continues to grow. Gary is part owner of NALTC.

 

Jennifer R.Wood, RN, BSN
CPR/First Aid Instructor

 

Jennifer is currently a nurse at Baptist Hospital in Union City. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Before graduation, she had several years experience as a Nurse Technician, working at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee, Jackson Madison County General Hospital, in Jackson, Tennessee, and also at Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Jennifer is certified as an instructor in CPR/First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Jennifer is our CPR and First Aid instructor at NALTC.

April C. Roberts
Director of Student Affairs

 

April graduated from the Tennessee Technology Center in Dickson, Tennessee, with a Diploma from the Tennessee Board of Regents, for completion of the Business Systems Technology program in 2001. She specialized as a Medical Administrative Assistant, and also completed the Accounting program while she was there. She is knowledgeable in various office procedures, as a result from her training at TTC, and also from her employment with Caterpillar Financial Services, where she was a document processor.   April is the Director of Student Affairs, and part owner of NALTC.

 

Christine N. Roberts
Director of Finance

 

Christine graduated from The University of Tennessee at Martin in 2004, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Major in Economics, and a Concentration in Finance. Christine became part owner of NALTC in 2006 and is currently the Director of Finance. She also worked for ACH Food Companies, Inc as a staff accountant and was later promoted to Financial Analyst. Christine then joined the new company formed by ACH Food Companies, Stratas Foods. She currently works for Stratas Foods as a Financial Analyst as well as continuing her duties as Director of Finance for NALTC.
